PUNTA DEL ESTE; URUGUAY

Hola-
We took a fast boat ferry across to Punta del Este, Uruguay. Spent lots of time on the beaches, which are pretty secluded this time of year and so beautiful. We rented motos for a few days (the absolute highlight of Junebug's trip), went on a fishing excursion and caught 3 Corvina total, gambled at the casino (highlight# 2 of JB's trip), and ate a mystery mixed parrilla. What we thought were grilled veggies and steak actually turned out to be intestines, goat meat and cow balls....and we were freaking starving. After 3 weeks with Junebug here we now have a solid list of trip phrases, a serious dent in the bank accounts, and newfound gambling and alcohol addictions....haha!! (Stack goes up, stack goes down). The accomodations here were so nice, hotels right on the beach, the best seafood ever, and beaches for miles. Punta del Este is the vacation hotspot for the holiday season, which we barely missed, but it worked out because the beaches were almost empty and it was a little cheaper than usual. The fishing trip was a definite highlight and we were so glad to get out on a boat. The fish were biting so we got lucky.....except for Mack....poor Mackey couldn't catch a break. Riding the motos around was great cause we covered a lot more ground. We spent the last 3 weeks trying to talk JB into extending his trip, but he lagged and therefore failed. Dammit Junebug! We miss everyone.
Peace and love,
